We're all done for brand-new game releases on Xbox Game Pass this week, but if you're looking for an update to a game that's already on there, you might be interested in checking out Ark: Survival Ascended's new Ragnarok DLC.

This free DLC reintroduces a "massive 144km² map" that's been rebuilt for Ark: Survival Ascended with "stunning biomes, unforgettable landmarks, and brand-new secrets". A lot of the content is returning from Ragnarok's original release in Ark: Survival Evolved, although there's also some new stuff such as a Bison companion and four new islands in the form of the Scotland Expansion, Alpines, Redwood Expansion and Desert Expansion.

"This massive 144km² map has been fully rebuilt with stunning biomes, unforgettable landmarks, and brand-new secrets. Brave Murder Murder Snow, explore lush new islands, and take on the deadly Ice Wyvern to unlock powerful Tek gear. Discover ancient ruins, dive through underwater labyrinths, and ride into battle on the mighty Bison in this wild, myth-forged world. Whether you're returning or exploring for the first time—this is your saga to shape."

As mentioned, you can get the Ark: Ragnarok Ascended update entirely for free as long as you've either bought the base game or have access to it via Xbox Game Pass already, although you have to claim it on the Xbox Store first:

If you're looking to take your Ark experience to the next level, a new Lost Colony Expansion Pass also went live on the Xbox Store yesterday for the game, serving as Survival Ascended's "first massive canonical expansion pack". It includes a new story that arrives in December 2025 and leads into the upcoming release of Ark 2.
